Gallo,
a male Western cougar, age 4 years.
Gallo was sent to the Refuge by federal authorities, when it was reported that
he had been locked in a small cage with no food and water for over 12 days.
When he was fed, he only received hamburger. Now, he has canine tooth
problems because he never received any bones to help his teeth and gums.
Gallo has a very healthy appetite and weighs 175 pounds. He gets all the
beef, chicken, liver, pork and bones his heart desires. He also gets
vitamins added to his balanced diet. Gallo shares a habitat with Hunter,
another cougar.
