Eighteen month old Kantu was placed at the refuge by state and
federal authorities after being rescued from a very abusive home.
His left arm was severely broken. Kantu suffered
head
trauma and multiple skull fractures causing neurological damage.
In addition, he also had lacerations of the head and inner thigh
that went to the bone and ear damage causing probable deafness
in his right ear. He has undergone surgery to pin and stabilize
his arm and stitches to close the open wounds over his body.
We are asking for someone to sponsor Kantu and for donations to
cover the cost of his extensive medical care which will be ongoing
for several years. He will continue to need X-rays, tests and
exams.
Kantu cannot walk due to the extreme damage to his leg and will
require a great deal of time, care and rehabilitation. Any donations
received to help with Kantu's medical expenses and care will be
deeply appreciated. Please keep him and the refuge in your prayers
and God Bless all of You! Only God and time will heal the
effects of the mental abuse and repair the neurological damage,
hopefully, to full capacity. |

This is Kantu after surgery and medical treatment. His
visible injuries are healing nicely but it will take years for him
to overcome the mental and neurological damage.. |
