Mission
Established in 1989 and incorporated in 1993, The Exotic Cat Refuge and Wildlife Orphanage is a USDA licensed facility for non-releasable animals. We provide long term care and support and through our studies we hope to improve the quality of life and longevity of these previously homeless animals.

Programs
The majority of our animals have been confiscated and rescued by government agencies. We provide the animals with large habitats, warm and dry housing, as well as ponds or tanks to cool themselves in. We are on a continuous search for funding to expand and rejuvenate our facilities. Through your support we can continue to build new habitats.

Monique Woodard operates the facility. She has worked with big cats for over 27 years. She is nationally known as an authority on the behavior and care of big cats. We need funding to expand our facilities.




 

 

 

Goals and Results
Accomplishments for Fiscal Year Ending 12/31/2002

We built a temporary enclosure for our two new Bengal Tiger cubs "Simba" & "Dotari". We are finishing the renovations of our black bear enclosure. Kirby destroyed his old tree house! We enlarged the wolf compound. They have a nice place to play now.


Objectives for Fiscal Year Beginning 01/01/2003

  • We want to build a new larger bear enclosure with an in ground pool.

  • We need approximately $200,000 to do this.

  • Build a large single cougar reserve to house all of our Cougars in one nice location.

  • Expand the tiger compound and add an in ground pool.

  • Build a new and larger leopard habitat with plenty of trees and limbs to climb about and lie on.

We evaluate the health of each animal through daily contact including daily physical and behavioral observations and analysis.
